In 2017 i came into contact with an Autogyro school in Hilversum, made a test flight in a Gyrocopter and fell in love with this form of flying. Immediately started with the PPL (H) theory. Despite being busy and age, passed all exams at once. After more than a year of practice at Teuge airport I got my autogyro license.Subsequently, the PPL (A) theory was also done. |
Despite the fact that I was lucky enough to be able to rent an autogyro on Teuge without restrictions, having an own aircraft for a few years is still the best. To get to know several brands, I went to some schools for trial lessons. The Cavalon I used for my lessons is a luxury gyro but also quite "nervous" with some maneuvers and flying alone in that plane is not really great. After some wandering I ended up at wings.at, a flying school in Excalibur, Czech Republic and Spain. The owner / instructor has been flying anything that can fly for over 40 years. The gyro in which he taught was a ZEN1 gyro from Trendak from Poland. The Trendak gyro flew great and had a magnificent view through the many glass in the cabin. So, i contacted Mr Artur Trendak, the owner of Trendak & Son Aviation. After emailing back and forth a number of times, their new gyro, the Tercel, turned out to have a German approval, so registration in the Netherlands should be possible without many problems.

Then wait 3 months for the construction. Nov 18, 2019 the time had come, the journey to Poland could begin, driving about 1260km. Once there, he was standing there, a beautiful new white Tercel gyro with a black rotor. Some extra explanation and then with a test pilot from Trendak in the air with my own machine. While we had dinner with Artur Trendak, 4 employees still carefully mounted an option on the gyro, at no extra cost. Then the gyro was installed on the trailer and we could start the journey back to the Netherlands where the gyro was stored in Budel at Kempen airport (EHBD). |
Given my years of experience in electronics development and installations, the Gyro hobby has now grown into a company where we develop a number of Avionic products such as a small GPS receiver of which the data can be sent to 4 underlying devices so that you do not need 2 or 3 GPS's in your airplane. A small integrated ELT emergency locator (one that works!) is almost ready for production and the next product, a mini ADSB receiver with color LCD screen, will also soon be released. See the products section on this site for detailed information. |
We also have a calibrated weighing system with which the weight (and changes in weight due to installation or removal of equipment) can be determined to within 0.5 kg and up to a total weight of 6500 kg. A report will be provided with the results.
Weighing is important, it is used to check whether the center of gravity is still in the right place.
